Cookies Policy
Last updated: 24 July 2026
1. What This Policy Covers
This Cookies Policy explains how Common uses cookies and similar technologies on our website (www.common-app.co). The short version: we set no analytics, marketing, or third-party cookies at all. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Sites commonly use them to remember preferences, keep visitors signed in, or track how a site is used. A related technology, localStorage, lets a site keep a small amount of data in your browser without sending it with every request.
3. How We Use Cookies
We do not set analytics cookies, marketing cookies, or third-party cookies of any kind on this site. That is also why you do not see a cookie consent banner here: none is needed. The only browser storage we use is either strictly necessary or purely functional. Our authentication provider, Supabase, keeps your login session in localStorage on the pages that need one (the become-a-local application, the waitlist form, and the reset-password form). Separately, we store one flag in sessionStorage so the opening animation does not replay every time you open a page.
4. Categories of Storage We Use
Strictly necessary: localStorage set by Supabase authentication to keep your login session on the become-a-local, waitlist, and reset-password forms. It exists only so those forms can work.
Functional: a single sessionStorage flag that records you have already seen the opening animation, so it does not play again. It holds no personal data and your browser discards it when you close the tab.
Analytics: None. We do not measure page views or traffic sources with cookies or similar technologies.
Marketing: None. We show no advertising and do not track you.
5. Managing Storage
You can clear localStorage and sessionStorage at any time through your browser settings (usually under site data). Doing so simply signs you out of the become-a-local, waitlist, or reset-password form, and lets the opening animation play once more. For more on your rights, see our Privacy Policy.
6. Updates
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time. If we ever introduce cookies that require your consent, we will update this page and add a consent banner where the law requires one. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
